West Michigan Environmental Action Council and Plaster Creek Watershed Working Group are teaming up on May 15 to cloak different parts of the creek with some much-needed care and attention.
Join a group of us for a fun afternoon in Marquette Park along an urban/mixed-industrial portion of the creek. There will be relaxed portions near the park as well as some tricky sections that the more sprightly among us can tackle with hip boots and maybe even waders!
We'll pick up trash and get to know a bit of the creek in all it's spring energy. The afternoon will end with a modest feast of tacos from a nearby local restaurant.
See below for a map of the area we'll be visiting, or check out some pictures from the clean-up last fall: http://tatteredatlas.blogspot.com/2009/11/plaster-creek-clean-up-photos.html
There are two options for meeting up with the group:
1) Meet at my house (352 College Ave SE) at 2:30 and carpool to the site.
2) Meet at Kimball Stadium of Marquette park at 3:00:
1352 Nagel Ave SW
Wyoming, MI 49509
